Mark Schoeman

Mark Schoeman is a Partner at Genesis Analytics, a global African economic and development consultancy. He leads the Centre of Digital Excellence (C0DE) team at Genesis which focuses on digital economy opportunities, technology governance and ethics and data-driven decision making.

The focus of Mark's work is identifying and enabling opportunities for digital technology to connect young Africans to income-generating sources of work, and critical services like health and education, and addressing the risks inherent in technology applications. He has worked with several African governments leading the developments of national 4IR and digital economy strategies, with BigTech companies to understand and improve their impact and policy engagement, and with international development organisations advising how to incorporate digital interventions in their programmes.
